Husband stitch? If you gave birth to your baby and your doctor said this to you, how would you react?

I saw this article pop up on facebook and i dont know how to feel. Personally i would be horrified if this happened because its being done without my consent

(Basically its another stitch down there after you give birth"to make you tighter") other people were commenting and said they wouldnt care or felt indifferent because they asked/would ask for it. The article said approx. 60% get this done. Im pregnant with my first and i have never heard of this being done.
