Is this stealing my friends name?

So my husband thinks I’m crazy and should not care about this. 
We are having another boy, our first is named Kaleb and we like the idea of another K name. I absolutely love the name Kai for our son BUT my friends daughter is named Kailee and she calls her Kai all of the time. Would this be awkward/messed up or stealing her name? 
If yes any other K names or unique boy name recommendations? I haven’t loved another name as much as that one.

I would be annoyed if my friend named their child my child’s name. There are millions of names.

The fact she uses Kai as a nickname I wouldn’t use it. I guess if she only used it once in a blue moon it wouldn’t be a big deal, but if she used it a lot then that’s when I would say no. People tend to be very territorial about names so if you think she would have a problem I wouldn’t do it

I think it’s a bit weird and looks like you have copied them even if you haven’t if you see a lot of them. If you rarely seen them I wouldn’t worry too much. It’s not like it’s even the same name x

I think it’s fine. Our friends child’s name is Casen. They call her Case all the time. Well we named our son Case. Didn’t think about it til we seen them months later. No ones ever said anything either.
