I'm a little confused

I was supposed to get me period around the 4th of this month. I was late so I immediately tested and it was negative, so I waited 5 more days tested again and still negative. I'm still late so I went to the store and picked up some tests today and tested when I got home. I took a test and I swear I can now see the faintest line, I had someone tweak it for me and there is a line but the tweaked said that sometimes first response tests can have indents...I was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone and if you did indeed find out you were pregnant.
