How long did you put up with long distance?

For all the guys and gals out there who are in or were in long distance relationships, how long were you in them before moving together or how long did you put up with it?

4 years while we were going to college in different states! Met senior year of high school and both moved after being together for 9 months. 
It was REALLY hard, I can’t emphasize that enough. Towards the end we fought a lot, but it all comes down to communication. You both have to be willing to talk and put in the effort to show you care. Find new ways to show you love each other and surprises that don’t require you to be there in person. I completely credit that long distance with the great communication we have now, we openly talk about everything.
Got together 2011, left for school in 2012. He moved back home in 2014 and me in 2016. We finally moved in together February of this year after being together for 6 years and just celebrated our 7 year anniversary. 😊

3.5 years. international. a week from yesterday i move to his country in a marriage visa so we can start to close the distance. 
communicate. 
about the things that feel good and the things that feel bad. about where you want to go in life. about how you want to live. about your expectations. about your goals. 
sometimes it doesn’t work out...and that’s okay. 
we took a break for a few months. saw some other people. explored local options. but for us, after awhile we circled back to each other. the distance was so hard, but not being each other’s person was harder. 
sometimes it does work out.

6 years, our son and I moved to France to be with him. We had Visa issues so he couldn't come visit anymore. 2015 we decided we would have to live in France for all of us to be together.

Going to be year in December. We are going to be long distance for another 5 months then we should be back together again. We didn’t choose long distance we were kinda force due to his JOB. However he would come every other month and stay a week. He is currently 600 miles away and the kids and I do visit him as well. I am raising our 6 month daughter alone from her being two weeks old  but he financially supports us.it kills him so much because he is missing out but we make it work.

I lived in Canada, Husband in The south of USA. Knew and gamed with each other since 2010. I moved to the USA in AUGUST 2013. Married Nov 2014.

A few months - the distance as a couple was too hard to bare after 5.5 years of being best friends online. I personally don’t think it works, as it’s very taxing, but that’s from my experience.
I can’t tell you that I know of anyone who successfully stayed together after long distance... both online, work, or military related. Sorry x
