Pediatrician?

Question

For those who don't yet have a pediatrician, when do you all plan to start interviewing some to see who you bond with? Seems like all my prego friends made up their minds early on in pregnancy but I wasn't even focused on it. I have a short list that friends have suggested but not sure when we should go meet them.

Moms with kids already, at what point in your first pregnancy did you select a pediatrician? Any questions you recommend asking? Thanks all!!!

For my first I used the pediatrician that I used as a child. When we moved I needed to switch. I asked one of my best friends who has a very similar parenting style and a lot of the same views, medically. We are happy with where we are at now. I would ask your friends more about what they like and why they recommend that doctor and narrow your list down that way. Good luck!!

I started asking friends in my area around week 20 (24 weeks Tuesday). I would have decided by now, but trying to find a day both my husband and I can go to the office & meet and talk to the doctors-so our conflict in schedule has slowed us down, but I've at least narrowed down the list to two places in my area. Hope to solidify by 30 weeks.

I've never heard of interviewing... Just ask local moms, check out what type of practice you want (multiple doctors or solo), and I'd hurry because some practicioners only take so many new babies!

My doctor asked me about it and I hadn't really put any thought into it. He is a family practice doctor and said he would be happy to take care of our baby. We really like him, so it was an easy choice. I figure we can always change if we want to.

I am using the same pediatric group I went to as a child. Many of the same drs still practice there and they are amazing!!!
