So I have been breastfeeding my son since he was born. I’ve been incredibly blessed to have had such an easy and positive experience. However for the last two weeks my right nipple is red and swollen, it has a crack on it yesterday and whenever baby latches it makes me want to scream and cry. It hurts like hell!!!

Problem is I can’t figure out what’s causing it, baby isn’t biting me, I’ve been feeding less on that side except when it gets full of milk and it engorged do I need to take out the milk... it is only the right nipple and not even the whole nipple, just the aereola under the nipple and part of the nipple itself.

Please help!! The best way I can describe the pain is like this: you know those first days when baby is about to latch and you know that the horrible pain is coming?? It’s that same pain and I’m having the same feeling right before baby latches.. it kind of KIND of gets better while he nurses but it always hurts awfully afterwards..,
