Rent (is this being mean?)

Question

So my sister & her 2 kids moved in with me & my husband & our 3 kids. I want my kids to do things around the house but my nephew & niece don't do anything & when I tell them to do something like take out the trash or vacuum & pick up they roll their eyes.  They are 12 & 10. My kids are 3,1 & 10mths old. My 3 year old sees trash & picks up & wants to take it out. 
So I turn off the wifi so my nephew & niece won't be on the wifi. They have phones but not connected.

Your sister should be having a talk to them. They are disrespecting your rules and your home.

I think you should have a talk with your sister. I get that her kids are probably not use to that, but you were kind enough to let them live with you then can at least contribute to some house work. I wouldn’t turn on the wifi back on until they learn some manners.

My Wi-Fi password gets changed everyday and they don’t get it until they have done what they need to do. Then as they finish I give it to them or put the password in for them individually.

I’d say if your sister doesn’t see a problem with that and they can’t pick up after themselves, they’re using you and treating you like a live-in maid in your own home. I don’t have the patience for that shit, they’d be out on the street. You’re literally an angel 👏🏼

I think you and your sister need to have a discussion about your expectations from her children and help around the house. If won't work if you two aren't on the same team. Then together you can speak to the kids about the expectations and consequences of not doing their share.

Not rude at all. Someone needs to adult. I’d be talking with the sister and telling her she needs to help out also and lead by example. I like the lady commenting change the password everyday and they get the password when they are done with helping.

I have it to were I can pause the wifi til they do what I ask &they cant get it back on til they are done but then there are days that my sister & i just argue cuz of them
