PLEASE HELP

This morning I started having small, light cramps, which have been consistent throughout the majority of the day. However it wasn't until I just went to the bathroom that I became concerned. There was a fair amount of bright red blood...please help me calm down and tell me that is normal because I'm petrified that the worst is about to happen...
