I personally would get the backpack because I find things always slipping off my shoulders when I bend down; I wouldn't want to hit my LO in the face with my bag... much like I do my cat when saying good bye before work 😂
You're more hands free with a backpack I feel.

Backpacks are a life saver with kids. I switched to a backpack when I kept picking my son up and my purse would swing and sometimes smack his head.  Haha. Mommas purse and light.
