Pram/snow suit or footmuff?

It’s cold in UK and more so in Dec. I’ve read mixed reviews on whether to use pramsuits or sleeping bag / footmuffs that has left me confused. Anyone living in cold environments that can offer any advice on how to dress baby outdoors in cold? 
Do I go with pram suits or footmuffs / pram snow bag things.

If they’re going to be in a car seat things like puffy suits aren’t safe. They can cause the car seat not to work properly in a crash because the suits will compress and the straps will have slack. The best way to dress in cold is thin things layered up, fleece, blankets and a shower cap style car seat cover.

With my son I used a footmoof blanket and made sure he had a jacket and hat on and then I’d put the rain cover over (even with no rain) to avoid the cold air hitting him in the face and to keep the warmth in, I’d take it off indoors and on transport but out in the elements I’d keep it over,  I’d air it out every once and while but for short journeys whilst walking I’d do it, this time around my baby’s in her pram top so I’ll be using a fluffy pram suit whilst out a small blanket and I shouldn’t imagine I’ll need the rain cover unless it starts raining as the pram tops enclosed

Layers!! Wool closest to the skin, then another layer and something wind proof. Avoid fleece it gets cold if wet or just sweaty. 
My son is born early in January, and most of the winter I dressed him in a wool onesie/body and tights, wool suit over that(Picture). Wind proof hat and mittens, Put him in the bassinet/carry cot on the pram/stroller either in a sleeping bag or with a duvet over. 
If going in the car seat the same as in the stroller but with a wool blanket over. Never use a car seat cover, they trap heat and co2.

Now that he is 10months old he wears a winter suits when we are outdoors playing or taking a walk in the stroller, just use different layers under depending on the weather. When driving he wears clothes accordingly the weather, just take of his jacket before I put his I his car seat and use a wool blanket over him if it’s needed. I try to heat the car a little before getting him in it.

I’m in the UK also and due the 6th of December. Snowsuits and thick jackets or a no go for the car seat. I have a footmuff. Il layer up with blankets from house to car (will have car heated) and will remove blankets in car. 
If I’m going for walks and using the carrycot part of the pram il use a snow suit.

I live in Norway and take my baby out almost exclusively in her stroller.  I love my stroller sleeping bag combined with thin wool layers. She stays nice and cozy inside and it doesn’t require undressing her when I go inside. It’s particularly convenient if I’m shopping and pop into a store while she’s sleeping- I can just unzip her a bit so she doesn’t overheat
