Glucose Test @ 9 weeks?

Question

This is my second pregnancy and while I was a few numbers below the borderline for GD my last pregnancy, they still treated me as if I had it. I never took a glucose test for my first pregnancy but it was between 22-28 wks that I had my A1C bloodwork done. 
I just went in for my in-processing appt last week and was told by the nurse since I had GD previously I needed to complete the one hour glucose test ASAP. I guess I’m just a little confused as to why it would be done this early? 
Has anyone else had a glucose test done in their first trimester?

My dr policy is if you had gd previously or have a higher bmi then you do a 1 hr in first trimester just to be cautious.

I had GD with my first so they had me tested at 8 weeks this time. I failed, but I'm wasn't surprised. I'm 21 weeks now and still diet controlled

Yep I had it with my 1st. So I got tested at 9 weeks now with my second, they test early with the second bc if you had it with your 1st and base off of bmi. It has to be 29% and under. I was 31% and passed.

I had mine at 10 weeks due to gd with my second pregnancy. I have gd with this one also trying to diet control but so far no luck. I will be 13 weeks tomorrow.

Okay. I just wanted to make sure because I thought you had to be well into your second trimester but if it’s for that reason then that makes sense to me. Although, I am not sure how I will stomach the glucose drink since anything makes me so nauseous now. I’m even more nervous to take it.
