Stolen baby name by a family member 😒

Update: She changed her baby name to Elle, pronounced L. Still super close but at least it isn’t Ellie. I’m thankful that my cousin talked her out of Ellie 🙏🙏

So I’m due February 28th and Ashley my soon to be cousin in law is being induced on the 13th on November.

We are both having girls.

My husband and I picked our first boy and girl names before we were even married 3 years ago. I’ve had multiple miscarriages so it’s been a long time coming that we finally get to use the names we so carefully picked.

Ashley got pregnant by chance while my cousin was still in high school, she’s 2 years older than him 😒 but I’m happy for them and the baby ❤️.

When my husband and I got to find out what we were having at 20 weeks, we also did a gender reveal and a name reveal, Ellie Maye Carpenter.

Ashley had chosen the name Skyla Marie but before her baby shower decided to change the babies name to Maisy Joe.

I’ve done a weekly update with pictures on Facebook about my pregnancy for family that live out of state and since the reveal I’ve always called my baby girl by her name, it’s no surprise to anyone in our family that Ellie is her name.

This week I posted an update as usual and Ashley comments saying that “we have picked the same name for our baby girls”.

I had no idea that she had changed her babies name again. I had just seen her in Walmart and she was calling her baby Maisy.

She stole the name we picked and it’s not a super popular name where we live so it’s not a coincidence. I am so upset and hurt that she would do that... she might be due before me but how in the world is that fair?!?

Ellie Maye is in honor of my husbands late grandma Stella May, she was an amazing woman and the name really means a lot to us and Ashley knows that.... 😢😣

It wouldn’t be so upsetting if some random person we never saw stole the name but someone who’s going to be a part of my family and be around us on holidays and birthdays.... it’s just so frustrating.... I don’t know what to do.

I guess that there will be 2 Ellie’s if she doesn’t decide to change it again.... blah! Just needed to vent, I don’t want to start shit between my family so I haven’t talked to anyone about it 😶
