*UPDATED* Mommy's Bliss Gripe Water???

*UPDATE* my friend is a DoTerra rep and she gave me a roller with their DigestZen blend and Orange Oil(a mood uplifter) and it's worked great!

I was given a bottle of this and am considering using it for my almost 3 week old but want to hear experiences and advice first. He's had horrible gas and has been so uncomfortable today that he's been up 7 hours with only napping for maybe 90 min total in 20-30 min spurts. It's not Colic because he doesn't really cry, just gets woken by it and fusses until I comfort him. He's also going through a growth spurt and cluster feeding a lot but I've been careful to burp every 5-10 min and keep him up right 15-20 min afterwards. Is he too little for it? Will it help or just make him more upset? Please any advice is appreciated!

With my first my husband had read that gripe water does as much as just giving them a teaspoon of regular water. I found that it was relatively true, sometimes it helps and sometimes not. If you bicycle their legs it helps and pushing gently on both their feet to bring their knees to the chest helps. They have a hard time pushing out gas and if they're constipated they need help to bare down. Doing those little exercises can help keep things moving smoothly.

Gripe water has never helped my daughter or any of the children I have cared for. However, bicycling the legs is a great trick. Apple cider vinegar is amazing...rubbing a warm capful on baby's belly or putting a few drops in a bottle if you bottle feed, or rub some on your nipples if you breastfed. It has many wonderful uses, but this one was by far the most helpful in my lifetime. Good luck momma!

I ALWAYS have gripe water on hand, and still use it when my 4yr old has tummy issues. It's a life saver!!!

I used gripe water and it worked for the most part.  Until I found out about The Windie. I ordered it off of amazon. A bunch of moms recommended it to me! I don't like to give my daughter anything especially that young so this was great
Since it's a little whistle you put in the but that lets the trapped gas out. My daughter would go from crying/waking up to instant relief! Truly a lifesaver! They come in packs of 12 I believe. Instead of buying more every time I ran out I bought two packs and would boil them to sanitize.

If you put it on his skin make sure he isn't exposed to sunlight for 72 hours as an citrus oils are photosensitive and will cause a burn/skin discoloration that lasts for weeks. If it has peppermint do not use it, that is not safe for babies under 18m as it can cause respiratory distress.

I use gripe water but what helps my baby more was gas relief drops!! They are a life saver and it's way less for them to swallow. 1 tsp is a lot which is what gripe water recommends for I think babies over 1 month. Under 1 month it's 1/2 a teaspoon. Anyways, another thing that works great it DigestZen oil. It's a DoTerra oil you can buy on Amazon and you mix it with coconut oil and rub it on their tummy and feet and it absorbs into their skin and helps with digestion and gas! Dill oil also helps with gas.

I used mommys bliss and it did t work for my little guy at all but colic calm works wonders for him and he loves the taste too.

We found gas drops work better. Our pedi says gripe water doesn't work and when we tried it he was right but gas drops...life saver.
