INVERTED NIPPLES, can I still breastfeed?

I will be induced Tuesday, and I've wanted to breast feed her but I'm worried the fact the my nipples are inverted that I can't! Any mamas on here have the same problem? Help!!

Not myself personally . But my mum did and although it made it more difficult but not impossible . I also have read about women with inverted nipples just using breast pumps or nipple aids but your lactation specialist should advise you on your options. Good luck!!

Yes. Just dont give up when it gets hard. My sister has it and she is now breastfeeding her 3rd baby.

Yes. I had inverted nipples. I was able to breastfeed my children over 1 year. Just don't give up if it hurts or you'll get ripped nipples. That's common and nearly every breastfeeding mom has had it in the beginning. It gets easier every day! I liked breastfeeding because you don't need to travel with a lot of stuff. Just be sure to take your breasts with you 😉 and all is fine 😃. Search for an lactation consultant - they'll help you through the first rough weeks. You'll need support. Good luck!

I fed both my children ND I have flat nipples.  I used the shield off and on in the hospital for the baby to learn but once ingot home I no longer needed it...it actually helps draw out the nipple permanently.  Use nipple cream after baby nurses and in a few days you'll be a pro.  You can also pump for a minute or so to draw out the nipple before having the baby latch

I have very flag nipples. Breastfeeding was very tough in. The beginning (very very cracked nipples....actually half of my nipple for ripped off) but it eventually got better (around 9 weeks pp....I'm now 11). Lansinoh makes this little thing that looks like a little bike horn and it's meant to help coax your nipples up. I never used it (I didn't see it in the store until after things got better) - maybe try that
