I think we can mostly all agree that the current model of public schools in the US is not working. If you do not agree I would love to hear why - but this is not my question.

My question is, what changes need to happen to better our public education model ? I am a teacher and feel passionately about this topic. I’m curious though what others think about how to solve this problem

Is the solution cut and dry ? What are the factors ? What are the nonnegotiable factors ? What can we do away with ? What should we keep ? What should we add?

For example shorter days ? More physical activity? Shorter sitting periods? More student choice ? Alternative schedules instead of everyday every other day ? Adding a cyber component? Eliminate state tests ?
