First Dr. Apt?

So I will be 5 weeks tomorrow and I just called my dr.’s office to schedule my first appointment and they wouldn’t make one until I was 10-12 weeks along EVEN though I had a horrible miscarriage in June and they where aware of that. They said all I could do before that was blood work. I see other people on here getting scans at 6 weeks. What’s the deal?!?

I asked for a viability ultrasound and they scheduled me at 6 weeks!

I’ve had two ectopics this year. I get my first u/s Friday at 5w4d to make sure it’s in the right spot this time (🤞🏼). I’m seeing a specialist too...I don’t know if that matters. We were about to start IUI then IVF but got a positive before my second HSG.

I just made an appointment with my doctor which I didn’t say why and when I seen him I asked for a scan and he sorted it

Sorry friend, but that’s totally normal. We had a miscarriage at 13 weeks and they still don’t see me early because it only happened once. Most women with early scans are because they paid for them or they were having complications/high risk.

That’s unfortunately very normal, even though it’s frustrating. It really depends on where you are in the world, even different offices run things differently. Keep in mind some of these mums are paying for private early scans. I had one early this time because I’m high risk, but usually for miscarriages they don’t see it as high risk until it’s happened a few times. Sorry mama, 😔. You could try calling around and seeing if there’s another office in your area that might give you more urgent reassurance.

I'll be 9 weeks when I see my OB. Then after that appointment, I schedule a ultrasound! So I'll be 10-12 weeks when that appointment comes. 
I get so upset & I feel its not fair that I have to wait too! I'm currently 6 weeks & 4 days, I want to know if this baby is OK. Especially with what happened in September, the month before we got pregnant.
