Is sex safe at this point?

So i am due the 30th, im 2cm dialated and have lost my mucus plug.

So im 37 weeks 3 days

Is it safe, without my "plug", to have sex, so try to ripen my cervix up a little bit?

Hope this isnt a dumb question, i dont want to call my obgyn about it if you guys can help.

Although sex sounds so awful at this point (my poor husband has been a trooper) because im so uncomfortable and feel so unattractive and ugly, i really am thinking maybe it will help move things along a little?

Please help.
