Spotting?

Question

So I normally spot for a day or two before my period starts to actually flow. 
Would those first two days of spotting count as part of my period? Never sure how to log those. 
Also the last two days of my period are light brown spotting. Are those also counted as part of my period? 
Any ideas would be helpful

Your period starts the first day of bleeding and i would count it until you don’t have anymore spotting. The first part my mom who is an OBGYN told me because last month I spotted then had nothing for 2 days the started again so she said my first day was the spotting. The after part just what i think.

I’ve been having this for months now. 20 days without spotting. Cd 20 light pink spots whenever I wipe. For two days. Then I have super light period for 2-3 days. Then spot again.

I swear we were just thinking the same thing. I want to know because I was spotting on the seventh and the eighth, today is the 12th and I’m still cramping and my cramps normally don’t let after three days into my period ..
