Help early period or miscarriage??

My husband and I have been ttc the last few months. Im supposed to start my period in 3 days. I took a test this morning and thought there was a vvvvfl. Well I got an upset stomach with pretty bad cramping at like 4:30pm went to the bathroom and noticed a good amount of blood (like a second or third period day) I've had blood come out every time I've used the bathroom but now it's not much just done clots. And almost no cramps now. Is this an early period or possibly a miscarriage?
