Best friend

I am in love with my best friend. He's my ex, high school sweetheart. So when when we were young, stupid, and immature we dated and didn't make it. It's been 5 years since we broke up. Still both young, stupid, still a little immature, but more grown up. I want only him but I don't want a relationship. We are on opposite sides of the state of Texas. Idk how to exactly handle this. We both talk about our feelings for one another but that's it. Can even a long distance like that even work?
