Period or spotting?!??!?!???

So I experienced spotting(panty liner was used) for a few days typically the length of my period. My period wasnt due till next week, was this my period or is it spotting before this has never happened but i do have a very irregular period. And what does this mean

This is also happening to me, I’ve been having dark brown spotting for 2 days now, and my period is not due for a little more than a week.

I have always had irregular periods too and when I was pregnant with my second son, I had a very "normal period" (a normal period for me at that time) the the following month it came early, and was just spotting that gradually increased over the span on 2 weeks and turned into more of a normal flow and I was having pretty intense cramps, so I thought for sure I was having a miscarriage. Went into the er February 14th of 2012 and found out I was almost 10 weeks with my youngest son. It's not easy having irregular periods but if you start charting everything from flow, moods, etc you will find your bodies pattern. Good luck!

This happened to me when I was pregnant with my son... if you’ve had sex lately you might want to take a test in about a week or so.

My situation is kinda different my period came April 30th and for the first day it was very light only spotting literally for the next two days it got a little heavier it was supposed to end on the 3rd of May but two days later today being May 5th I’m having pinkish reddish brownish spotting my boyfriend and I had sex about 3 weeks ago this never happened to me it’s usually just brown a day after it ends due to the old blood coming out my system anyone have any answers?
