How long?

How long did it take for your bowels to go back to normal after having a c-section? I’m about 2 weeks out and still having a super hard time passing anything without a ton of effort.. it feels like the muscle isn’t pushing efficiently and it’s super annoying and uncomfortable.. I’ve been taking stool softener and eating fiber but nothing is helping.. idk of it’s normal or I should be asking my OB

It felt like forever! I had the opposite problem of you those... my bowel movements were frequent and immediate!!!! Several times I would be breastfeeding and have to shout for my husband to grab the baby so I could run to the bathroom. Soooooo embarrassing.  I didn't have a solid bowel movement for almost 3 weeks. It wasnt until I started taking probiotics that I got immediate relief. I had my first regular bowel movement the next day!!  
Take some probiotics!!!! I highly recommend it. It was amazing the difference it made.

The first time I actually was able to use the restroom and have a bowel movement, I was terrified and sat there scared to move. Finally when it was done, afterwards it was so much easier; except a couple of days where I was so constipated my stomach hurt and I ended up having so much pain. It took 2 full days to get all the bowels out!!!!! 
Lots of stool softeners and gas-x!!!

I was told that by a week pp bowels should be back to normal.

Third morning in the hosp I was able to make my first bowel movement. It was easy for me cause I literally had to rush to the bathroom. I only took ibuprofen for my csection pain and I drank a lot of water and ate regularly. Not sure if that’s why it helped lol

I’m almost 2 weeks not with a c section though but I do have a 3rd degree tear and stitches are literally right next to my butt and the first few times I went I literally didn’t move. It took 7 days for me to even go..😫

Try some miralax. My doctor recommended it and I used it and it worked pretty well.

Normal. 
I hated that part of recovery and when you finally do poop it’s uncomfortable on the scar. 
I took stool softener and gas x. Although gas x is for gas it definitely helped loosen thing up too. I had soo much trapped gas. Maybe that’s also what’s holding you.
