I wanted to do madelynn but was told tonight by coworkers that’s immature and incorrect and that I’m being trendy and made up! I just want to make sure they say “Lynn” not “line”

My youngest sister is Madeline, growing up my folks did go back and forth between ‘Lynn’ and ‘Line’, we ended with ‘Lynn’ as the final pronunciation, but I would say, if that’s a concern and you like the Lynn spelling better, go with it! 
Y as a substitute is no longer a “trend” TONS of people spell their names using Ys and it not just a recent thing any longer

I spelled my daughters Madeline, it's after the book character but pronounced "Lynn" instead of "line" I just like the way Madeline looks better. 
But I love the name regardless of how it's spelled.

I would spell it Madeline that was our second choice for a name but Madelynn is very cute too. I don't see anything wrong with that especially if you don't want them to call her Mad-e-line cause we were also trying to decide on the pronunciation for our daughter. We decided on Amelia though :)

Someone just explained it pretty well they said do you say “Caroline” line or lyn when you see the name “Caroline” you say line so same in Madeline you say line, so if you put lyn it would be Madelyn
