Miralax?!

Question

Suggestions on taking miralax dying pregnancy? I am packed up and it is causing some serious cramps. It's what I have on hand right now and would love some relief!

Definitely safe. I used it after I got so constipated in my first trimester that it made me pass out...my husband is a doctor and said this is fairly common, lol. It's very gentle and I don't even hesitate now if I feel I need to get things going!

I wouldn't really recommend any type of medication unless your doctor says it is ok. But for constipation, there are other ways to help it. What doctors and nurses in the ER I worked in would suggest, are:
Brown sugar and warm water as a drink
Adding a small fiber supplement to your diet (or you could buy fiber powder and use half of what the packaging recommends)
Drinking more water
Eating more fruit and veg
Prune juice 
Epsom salt

I've also known a body position where you sit in the squatting stance for a while to line your bowel up with your rectum so it's straight, to work. Alternatively you could get a small stepping stool that you can put your feet on when you're sitting on the toilet. It eases the passing of stool when your bowel is straight, so you don't have to strain so much.

It is safe. I personally also eat a pear cup and applesauce beause it keeps you regular!
