I got a cold sore after having sex with my Bf?

Question

So we had sex today (anal) and obviously making out and stuff. Anyways a few hours later I noticed a cold sore on the tip of my tongue.
Does this mean anything? I’m always paranoid that I’m going to contract an STD/STI even though we’re both in a long term monogamous relationship. 
We didn’t use a condo either...

A cold sore is a form of herpes.  So yes, if you have a cold sore, you have herpes.
Good news is that like 90% of the population has this form of herpes and a lot don’t even know so the only time you need to worry is if it becomes problematic or if you have a child.  You can’t kiss a baby when you have a cold sore

Look, if you're this concerned about catching something from your SO then you both should go get checked. You can get a cold sore from anything.

If it's on your tongue it's probably a canker sore. They are not contagious.
