Severe lag cramps/charley horse at night
With my first pregnancy I had a relatively uncomplicated pregnancy. Nothing too major happened. I did however experience intense charley horse cramps in my calves at night. They’d wake me up from a dead sleep and they would hurt enough to being me to tears and I’d be sore for days. Or awhile I just tried massaging it or moving my foot up and down but eventually had to go to google for faster and better relief. I found that getting out of bed quickly and putting my feet flat on the floor helped. It truly did. My doctor wasn’t much help and they went away once I had my daughter.
This time around my pregnancy has been a lot more strenuous on me. My nausea has been through the roof along with other typical symptoms being in the extreme. And now...the charley horses are back with a vengeance. And I’m only 21 weeks. It’s weird because I can feel the muscles building up for a few days and I’ll try the stretches and everything to prevent it, thankfully they haven’t gotten terrible yet but I noticed if I stretch in bed I can feel one coming on and quickly change positions or something. I just don’t understand why this happens and it’s super frustrating. I’m drinking plenty of water, I have a toddler to take care of too so I get a decent amount of exercise. I’m going to bring it up to my doc again next appointment but have any of you had similar experiences? Or am I just weird? Lol.
