Putting to bed drowsy is a bust

So a while ago, I started gentle sleep training (mainly because waking up every 2 hours at night was terrible for both of us and the doctor gave us the okay to cut back on night feedings). I say gentle because I’m not doing cio, im doing a very controlled method. However, no matter what I do, baby falls asleep on the breast and won’t wake up. And now she won’t even nap during the day.

I keep a small light on before bed, it worked for a few days, and now she’s accustomed to it and it doesn’t phase her.

I’ve tried switch nursing (changing every 5 minutes, and that doesn’t work).

I’ve tried waiting to put a clean diaper on her until after her feeding, but she hates that and won’t eat.

Once she’s asleep she was a heavy sleeper. And now it’s at the point that any time, day or night, I put her in her crib and she screams and we live in an apartment so

Letting her sleep train during the middle of the night isn’t an option so she’s been sleeping in my arms. I’m so sleep deprived. Her dad keeps giving me shit that I’ve given up, which I haven’t. She just becomes so accustomed to things and nothing sticks. And I don’t know what to do and I just want her to sleep.

We have a solid bedtime routine. She had a decent routine for naps (that just varied on wake up time in the morning). We have a schedule for bedtime. I just don’t know what to do anymore and her doctor is no help and just says “put her to sleep drowsy”, but gives me no help on things to help that.

Anything I’m missing or should try differently? She’s 7 months. EBF. She won’t eat any solids yet.
