Is it okay to kiss your own baby on the lips?

I love to kiss my baby girl, but she always turns her head to kiss me on the lips (almost five month old). I just want to know is it sanitary??
My sister told me that since I had a vaginal birth my baby got a lot of good bacteria from me through the birth canal, so would the same rules apply here with her wanting to kiss me on the lips?
I am a ftm I really just don’t know and am wondering bc I kiss her everywhere even her little butt bc it’s so cute!

I don’t. I find it weird. She has no idea what I’m doing and I feel like if I tried, she’d just push me away

I hate lip kisses always have I think they are weird but my almost two year old insists on them he will grab my face and turn my head and plant one right on my lips bc he knows I will try to turn my face trying to get him to kiss my cheek. I don’t think it’s detrimental to them by any means I just personally would rather not do it but I have also pretty much given up fighting the toddler so I frequently get lip kisses😝

My little girl gives me sloppy mouth kisses but she’s 17 months old now. I wasn’t kissing her on the lips when she was a newborn.

I personally don’t TRY to kiss my baby on the lips but my baby is the same way tries to give.  me lip kisses . I feel like they’re a part of us so there’s no bad thing about it . I just don’t really do it . I give her a lot of nose kisses instead

As long as ur not sick or anything then it’s fine!!! I’ve always kissed my son his lips. He just turned 10 & I still do it. 🤷‍♀️

I personally never kissed my daughter on the lips because you never really know if you are about to be sick or got exposed to someone when you went to the store or to go do something. Just keep it safe and kiss the head so you can prevent your little one from catching something that could have been avoided.

So many people kiss their babies on the lips. I personally don't because I get cold sores (although extremely infrequently...like once every 2-3 years) and I don't want to risk it, but also just because I don't want my mouth bacteria transferring to her mouth. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I kiss her practically everywhere else!
