When do you find out the gender?

I was always told between 14 and 20 weeks is average. So I tried to schedule my ultrasound for my 16 week mark and when I called they're like "whoa no, at LEAST 20 weeks". 
What is truth? Ahh!

You can find out as early as 12. We do a blood test at work and sometimes with boys it's very apparent that it is a boy. I recommend though waiting until week 17 to buy things and choose a name because that way you'll be 100% on gender

My dr office does a gener check/peak at 16 weeks. With my first my ultrasound texh swore it was a girl at 12 weeks. She said she had a lot of experience and can typically tell at 12 weeks...she was right with my first so we'll see with my second. I'll be 12 weeks in 3 weeks!

Your doctor's office response sounds about right. Most doctors feel any sooner could mean the results won't be 100 percent certain. I found out at 19 weeks.

The anatomy scan is typically not done until at least 18 weeks as the point is actually to measure organ development, not just find out gender. So if you're on a 4 week schedule that falls at 16 and 20 weeks your doctor will definitely wait until 20.

My doctor would not do one until 20 weeks, but I was able to go to a private ultrasound place at 15 weeks and find out we are having a boy. The place I went had a money back guarantee that they would be able to tell you the gender any time after 15 weeks. I had my 20 week apointment yesterday and he's still a boy.

20 weeks unless medically necessary. My office will only do it earlier if it's a high risk pregnancy or if there is a reason to suspect abnormalities.

I found out at 20 weeks yesterday. 16 week ultrasound he couldn't tell. My baby likes to keep his legs closed
