Dating scan - 9 weeks not 13 like expected?

Question

I had been tracking my dates so I know for sure the date of my lmp which would make me 13 weeks but at the U/S midwife said baby is only around 9 weeks?

​She said there was a heartbeat but I'm concerned about the 4 week difference? I just can't see how it could be so wrong and now  worried baby maybe isn't growing properly :( 
​(I lost one at 11 weeks and one at 6 before) 
​
​Got 12 week scan booked again in 3 weeks to find out more.

This happened to me with my first baby boy I was 13wks 2days and they put me at 9wks 2 days and he was right on his due date and 8 pound healthy don't stress to much Hun

How long are your cycles?  Did you have any spotting?  Maybe you did have another period but thought it was just spotting?  First trimester ultrasounds are very accurate for dating - within 5 days.  I know it's hard not to worry but I think everything will turn out fine - you probably just didn't ovulate when you think you did.  Good luck for your 12 week scan.

I had the same thing happen with my last pregnancy. I thought I knew for sure when I conceived, they ended up moving my due date back 3.5weeks. I went a week over the due date the ultrasound gave me and had a 10lb baby, who after the midwife looked her over said I was definitely why overdue.

I would wait for the ultrasound and see how that goes. They will measure the baby and that will give the true results you are looking for. Good luck
