Do you wake a sleeping baby to eat?

Question

My baby is 6 weeks old. Should I continue to wake her at night for feedings? I've discussed this with her ped, she said no as long as there is no weight loss but don't let her go over 6 hours. I try not to but I was also told by the other ped that she sees to consider myself blessed. My baby does have severe colic so by the time she goes to sleep at night, shes exhausted. I am not wanting medical advice, just your opinion.
*Edit* how much does your baby eat and how old are they? I know it varies, just curious.

Now that my LO is on a good weight gain pattern I do not wake her. Just feed her on demand.

I never wake him if he’s asleep. During the day or at night. He’s breastfed and 6 hours is the longest he will go. It’s more consistently 4 hours. My doctor said I only had to wake him for the first two weeks, but after a week she said I could stop cause he had already gained a pound. So he eats on demand. During the day it is anywhere from 2.5-4 hours. At night it’s most often 4 hours.

I let her sleep at night. As long as LO is gaining weight appropriately, let them sleep. They’ll wake up when they’re hungry. My daughter never sleeps more than 5 hours max. Usually one 4-hour stretch, then a couple 3 hour stretches.

My princess is 7 weeks and I let her sleep all night if she wants she is 10 ish pounds so she eats good she eats before bed and sleeps like a champ

Nope! My preemie has well surpassed his goal and is in the 75% for his weight. So last night, I swaddled him at 9pm and he woke up with my alarm clock at 5:30. I fed him and he went right back to sleep! If he’s a healthy weight let him rest! He needs rest and so do you!!! Enjoy!!

Nope I let her sleep. If she gets hungry or needs her diaper change she wakes up and I hear her. Lol as long as they have gained a good amount of weight its okay to let them sleep at this point

My pedi told me that I could let her sleep all night however my daughter damn near doubled her birth weight. Just do what your pedi suggests. my daughter slept through the night twice and shes 2 months the 5th. Shes usually up 1-4 hours depending if shes cluster feeding.
