Clomid for Unexplained Infertility?

Ok folks ... my question is - has anyone been on Clomid for unexplained infertility and NOT done an IUI? After my 4th round of Clomid and 2nd IUI, I got pregnant but miscarried at 5 weeks. My doctor said we could revisit fertility treatments if and when I was ready, but said there wasn't much point on being medicated without doing an IUI.

I'd be open to being on medication again (my benefits cover it), but I was paying $725/IUI and it is honestly getting pretty pricey for us. I thought medication would heighten our chances with or without an IUI since I was releasing 2 eggs per cycle on Clomid.
