Umbilical cord attached wrong

So I went to the dr today and I told her I've been having bad Braxton hicks so she wanted to check my cervix bc she said it was kinda early (I'm 18 weeks and 3 days) so she ordered an ultrasound just to make sure well while checking my cervix the tech noticed the babys umbilical cord is attached to the placenta in the wrong spot I guess (that's how I kinda understood it) and now I have to see a specialist...she said its nothing bad but why send me to a specialist then and when I tried to Google it all kinds of bad shit came up now I'm worried like idk what....😔😔😔
