Provera Question
Ok, I have crazy irregular cycles and saw the OB/GYN the end of October. I hadn’t had a period since just before summer, so she prescribed me Provera (10 mg) to take the first 10 days of the month for November, December, and January and then I see her very early in February.
I took November’s doses, finishing November 10, spotted the 13, and had a crazy heavy period the 14-19 and finished spotting the 21.
I went to a different doctor earlier this week and ended up with a prescription for Levothyroxine (25mcg) which I started on the 29.
I started spotting last night and I’m pretty sure my period is trying to start this morning (heavier spotting, mild cramping). Today should be day 1 of Provera round 2.
So, just a couple questions. Do I still take the Provera if I do start my period (I take it at night, so I have plenty of time to figure out whether or not to take it)? Does this mean I likely ovulated during the withdrawal bleed? Or could the Levothyroxine already affected my messed up hormone levels enough to get a period to start?
Sorry, new to the whole actually being medically treated for hormonal and thyroid imbalances (haven’t had health insurance in over ten years until this past summer).
