Do progesterone pills delay a period?

Hi everyone-
Looking for some help- back in Aug I had a successful medicated 
IUI
 but sadly miscarried at about 6 weeks. Got my period again in the beginning of November and we decided to just try again. Did another medicated 
IUI
 on Nov 20th, but this time my doctor prescribed me 200mg progesterone pills which I have been taking for 9 days. I’ve been feeling crampy and similar to how I felt when I did get my bfp before so I decided to take a FRER test today and it was negative. I then started to think this pill could possibly delay my period but my doctor never told me when to actually stop taking them. If I’m not pregnant I’d like to just get my period already and move on! I was going to stop the prog pill today and see if af comes. Has anyone gone through something similar? Would appreciate any thoughts!

They  never stop my period. I just stop taking them when AF arrives

They do stop your period, and you’re suppose to stop taking them when you’re suppose to get your period.

I was just prescribed progesterone. I was told to take it until 10 days after a positive ovulation kit. If I didn’t have a positive pregnancy test, I’m supposed to stop it, as it can delay your period.

My dr office said take prog for 14 days, take a test and if it’s negative stop the progesterone. But I always get my period before 14 days so I just stop taking it when I get my period.
