Bassinet or crib?

Hey guys,
I’m a first time mom and I’m about to be 13 weeks. I’m trying to research everything ahead of time and get a list of everything I need for the baby ahead of time so when my due date gets closer I’ll know everything I need to get. I was wondering if it would be worth it to get a bassinet if the baby if going to outgrow it in a couple of months anyway. Should I just get a crib and not get a bassinet at all? Or should I get a bassinet and get a crib later? I’m not really sure where the baby should sleep. My husband and I plan on keeping the baby in our room for the first couple of months then moving the baby out later.

Im a ftm as well and what I plan on doing is buying this for her to sleep next to my bed , and once a few months pass I’ll get a crib for her

You will likely need or want a pack n play- and this can double as a bassinet, but is multifunctional. 
They come with a bassinet insert, and a changing table insert. 
These are like foldable cribs that can be taken in the car, to other’s houses, used for play when baby gets bigger, living room naps, etc. 
You will want baby close by when they are an infant- otherwise you’ll be running around the house all hours of the night. Pack n plays are reasonably priced, and you can probably find a used one in good condition (fb marketplace is a good place for this).

Get a playpen. Pretty sure they all have attachments to bring the base up higher. You'll use the playpen even when they're older. Don't waste your money on buying something that's only good for like 16lbs. They grow fast! We use a playpen and it works perfect, he's sound asleep right next to me as I type this

We got the halo bassinet for out bedroom. We have a loft style place now and we won’t have a separate bedroom for nursery until a few months later, at which point we’ll also get a crib. I don’t know much abt crib brands but we’re going to get a convertible one that can be used as a bed too once baby grows.

FTM here! My son is 10 weeks today. We already had a crib in his nursery set up, but I had a bassinet in our room bc I planned on keeping him in our room until at least 6 months. He makes a lot of noises in his sleep though and it would keep me up all night while my hubby slept the night away lol. He started sleeping 5-6 hours at a time so we decided to set up a bedtime routine and move him to his room...he’s been in his nursery a little over a week now! We have him fed and in his jammies/swaddle by around 8:15 and in bed by 8:45. At first he was in his bassinet in his room but he moves so much that he was always pressed up against the side of the bassinet....so I moved him to his crib and he’s slept in his crib now 3 nights in a row and I’m getting wayyy more sleep!
I would say get both just to be prepared!

FTM as well. We got a bassinet for our room and since we are due to move by the time our LO is 9 months, I’m thinking a playpen will suffice until we get to our next location. It’s really what your comfortable with too. My mom said that I should move the baby to a crib or playpen when they start rolling over and moving more.

I actually have a crib in his room for when he's old enough that I'm comfortable with him sleeping in his room alone. He currently sleeps in a playpen with an infant bassinet attachment if we sleep in the living room. We have a regular bassinet in our room next to the bed for if we sleep in there

If the baby won’t be in your room I’d get a playpen with a bassinet in the top or just get a bassinet off of fb marketplace. I personally wouldn’t spend the money on a brand new one because they won’t be in it long

Youll need a play pen later, and most are cheap and come with a bassinet insert. We're keeping the insert in in our room until baby outgrows it into her own crib and then keeping it for the play pen.
