An IUD doesn’t typically end a pregnancy if it is a viable pregnancy, it can only sometimes cause complications if it interferes with the uterine wall and placenta. It doesn’t act as an abortion. It functions just like any other birth control

I was wondering this myself. I have the mirena and I got a positive pregnancy test a month ago. After having it for 4 months. Missed my period wen to doctor and got bloodwork done few days later and it came back neg. then had severe cramping and heavy bleeding the next day. I figure it was a chemical pregnancy.

It causes chemical pregnancies, so yes but the mother usually doesn't know
