When to tell immediate family after a miscarriage

We got our BFP for our rainbow baby and we are considering telling family even though it is really early (4 weeks today!). It’s hard not to worry but we feel like our immediate family should know. Did you wait a little longer after a miscarriage or just handle it the same?

Depends on whether you find them supportive and helpful or not.  We told my family much earlier than we told my husband's family, because we both find my family to be more supportive than his.

I had a miscarriage last year September 1st the day after I told my boyfriends family at 6 weeks and 5 days 
So when I found out I was pregnant this year in August I told him I’m not telling anyone until 12 weeks 
& then 12 weeks turned into 18 weeks. 
So everyone found out really late & it was just because I was so afraid of going through a miscarriage again.  
But everyone has been super supportive & helpful. 
I’m 20 weeks & 5 days today 😊

It’s such a personal decision. For us we actually told our parents sooner as we knew we’d need their support if the worst were to happen again. Thankfully it didn’t and we’re currently 35weeks with our rainbow 🌈 congratulations to you!!!!

I told even earlier after miscarriage. I needed the support of it happened again and I felt like I jinxed myself for waiting to tell.

We were I totally going to wait until after the 1st trimester but didn't make it that far after a MMC at 8 weeks.
This time, were debating if we should wait until 20 weeks. I was nervous before and what happened just confirmed thay we should wait. 
It really depends on if you want your family there for support and how they would react.

After having gone through it once before, having support from close family and friends was very helpful. I wouldn’t want to go through that again alone BUT I still want to spare them any heartache. It’s a tough decision but honestly has always been my only policy.

I waited the same amount of time but both times we waited until after the first ultrasound (8 weeks ish).

Congrats! I had a miscarriage in August & got my bfp last month. I told my family at 5 weeks on thanksgiving because I had already had a scan done & my family is small & very supportive either way. I still won’t tell social media until after I know gender though 16-20 weeks. 🤷🏾‍♀️
