Right or wrong

A friend of mine has a dog (Staffordshire terrier) May have spelled it wrong. Any who

She was outside with her dog & 1 year old. The dog wasn’t on a leash but has a shock collar and is very well trained. Will sit & wait/ come when called & walks with her and not run off ect. So she isn’t leashed. I was with her the other day and as she was outside walking around this women came out with her dog who took off running & wouldn’t go to its owners. So we and her son were standing there with dog dog less than arms length away & the other dog came charging . Smaller dog probably about 20/35 pounds rough estimate. And her dog got infront of the child and her and when the other dog came running her dog grabbed it by the neck and slammed it to the ground. And walked away . The other dog ran . She feels bad about the situation in a way . She shocked her dog and it was over. Her dog had no interest in trying to get back towards the other dog or fight. What do you think ? 🧐 I personally feel that since her dog wasn’t actually trying to attack the other dog it’s not really in the wrong as her dog was trying to protect its family. No the other dog wasn’t hurt or bleeding . Again the owner 1. Wasn’t with the dog nor did it have any type of control; leash/shock collar ect. 2. I was there when it happened and she immediately disciplined her dog and the dog wasn’t trying to continue to fight .
