Dads get all the credit!!!!

Mom rant-

I noticed it more than usual as we were at a Christmas party (yes already)with my Fiancé’s family. The baby was a little fussy the entire time. Aside from when family wanted to pass him around I was left to take care of him. Not a problem I love taking care of him. But not once did anyone say “wow, she’s such a good mommy. You’re so lucky she helps you with hiiiiiim....” not ONCE why?!?! Because it’s just expected that mom does all the work!!!! We don’t get praise for HELPING because it’s PARENTING!!!! The couple of times that my Fiancé broke away from his social time and recognized I needed him to Help everyone commented on what a “good dad” he was and how “helpful” he was and it’s just like REALLY?! That’s all it takes to get credit for being a good parent?? What about all the nights he just sleeps on through the night while I’m up?? Or the times I’m stuck for hours while baby cluster feeds??? It just rubbed me the wrong way. I’m not saying he’s a bad dad but he’s not helping me he’s parenting. Because he’s also a parent. And I will say that to the next person.
