I want to be a beast but...

Chelsea

So a little back story here...

I lost 40 pounds in 2017. I’ve successfully kept about 35 of those pounds off. I work out 3-4 days a week and, for the most part, I eat really healthy.

About once a year, I run a 5k. I’m not a huge runner but I’ll train for a few weeks then run the 5k and afterwards, I usually just go back to my normal routine at the gym.

Towards the end of 2017, we started TTC. Nothing we have tried thus far has worked but we’re being persistent. We’ve recently started fertility testing.

In the mean time, I have signed up for another 5k and I would really like to sign up for a 10k. I plan to ask my OBGYN when I see her next week, but I want to get other opinions on what their doctors told them to do. Is it safe for me to train and run a 10k while TTC or if I am possibly in the early stages of pregnancy?

The reason I ask is because there is so much conflicting research about this. Some research says it’s fine to exercise while TTC/pregnant if you are already fit (which I am). Other research says high exertion while TTC/pregnant is not recommended and that you should focus on low impact exercises like yoga.

What did your doctor recommend you do about exercise??? I really want to be a beast 😂💪🏻 but I don’t want to compromise my already wavering fertility!

Thanks!
