Anyone have hormone testing done?

I've been ttc for over 2 years now. I had my tubes and ovaries checked, been taking metformin and letrozole for about 6 months now. Doc wants me to do iui but my insurance wont cover it and we can't afford it. I've wondered if it could be a problem with my hormones, they never checked any of that. Do they usually check that?  In my head it seems like something they would do. So I'm just curious if anyone had had their hormones checked.

Yes but I would maybe change providers. It’s shocking that they wouldn’t have gotten a baseline before putting you through more invasive procedures to check your tubes and start you on letrozole.

I’ve had quit a few tests done with my gyn not even a fertility doctor and most insurance will cover these labs as long as it’s not coded “fertility” there are ways around it the only lab my gyn couldn’t do was AMH but I’ve had thyroid, blood clotting, lupus, and few other labs as my fertility work up before even considering clomid or any other treatments. I would definitely get a second opinion.

That’s one of the first testing they did with me. My FSH, testosterone, estrogen, thyroid, etc.

Yes. They should check your hormone levels usually on CD 2,3, or 4 to see if they are at the right level during that phase of your cycle. That’s really just to get a baseline. I know because I just had it done. But I also have PCOS but I would imagine checking hormone levels would be the same across the board.

I did, but I asked them to do it. I also wasnt getting periods, so I knew something was wrong.
