How do I tell my friend?

I found out yesterday that I’m pregnant! Yay!! But my very close friend has been trying for three years (PCOS). She’s been very excited for me to get pregnant but I want to tread lightly. How do I tell her? Do I make a cute deal out of it or just tell her? Idk! Help!

I think the best thing to do is tell her over text. That way she can process her emotions in private. Say something like 
“I wanted to let you know that I just found out I’m pregnant. I know you’ve been trying for a while and I didn’t want to upset you but when you’re ready I would love to meet you for lunch/coffee.” 
When you do meet up with her let her lead the talk about the baby. You don’t want to come off as bragging, even if you are excited.

Coming from somebody who has struggled with PCOS for years now, I always appreciate when a close friend tells me as soon as they find out. Or like not too long after finding out. It is so much better than finding out from other sources (or worse, social media). Telling me actually shows how considerate they are and that they care. 
I will go through the motions of dealing with it on my own (jealousy, sadness, then getting over it eventually). My friends shouldn’t not rejoice in their pregnancy because of me.

Exact same thing happened to me. I didn’t make a big deal out of it. I was honest with her about my feelings regarding her feelings. She said she was happy for me, but I know it was really hard for her. My suggestion- no cutsie stuff, just tell her when you two are on the phone. That way she can hide her first, real reaction.

Tell her by text or in person with no one else around. And don’t make a big deal. Also, don’t take her reaction personally. I know from experience that it is 100% possible to be so excited for someone else and so sad for yourself. Sometimes the sad for yourself shows more. The fact that you are asking means you are a caring and empathetic friend. You’ll both be fine ❤️
