I'm not sure about HIPAA but my ultrasound tech office does have signs everywhere that video or recording is absolutely not allowed. They are extremely strict about it so I guess it makes sense that it's HIPAA related.

Can't record or photograph anything at my doctor either. Same when I went to 3 fertility clinics. 🤷‍♀️

My doctor doesnt allow recording or photos with ultrasounds either. Were actually not even supposed to use our phones after entering the door into the rooms. They should give you pictures of your ultrasound and or small clips sent to your phone.

Maybe they are just worried about you recording and it's a problem if you can hear something that the person doing your ultrasound says, and then they tell you wrong or whatever. I'm not totally sure I explained that clearly. I know that's not really how HPPA works, but that's the only thing I can think of. They're just worried about being reliable for something they said and what if it's not accurate and is hard against them kind of thing

I have been to two different offices for ultrasounds and they all say you're not allowed any recording devices in the room.
