Should I just buy a Doc-A-Tot Grand instead of getting the regular size one if I’m hoping to use it for a long time?

Unless you have a ton of money to blow, I wouldn’t even get a dock a tot. They don’t last nearly long enough for their price.

Don’t forget before buying them that they aren’t advised for unsupervised sleeping. So unless baby will be supervised at all times while using it then I wouldn’t bother

No because a grand is for 9 months and up and won't fit a newborn well. 
I would get a deluxe because I can't picture my toddler using that thing.
