First ultrasound?

Hey y’all! I took a couple pregnancy tests a couple days ago and they both came out positive! 😬 I am trying to make my first doctors appointment, but so far the soonest I can get is January 7th. I was hoping to have one before Christmas, but I’m curious, what do they do at the first appointment? Is there an ultrasound?

Most doctors wont see you until you are at least 8 weeks along. At the first appointment they go over health history and a bunch of pregnancy stuff if I remember correctly. My doctors does a vaginal ultrasound to check for a viable pregnancy and do measurements to give you an accurate due date 😊 My appoimtment is Dec 20th and I cannot wait!

no ultrasound! they do a pap if it's due, they get all your health history, breast exam, and bloodwork!! then after they should schedule your ultrasound! after my first appt yesterday  they already scheduled my ultrasound for monday and scheduled an office visit for paperwork a week later and then the in january i have my OB visit where i actually meet her! IF you wanna see baby you can always pay to have them do an ultrasound aswell 🥰

Okay, I got a new appointment on the 18th, so I’m 11 days!  I’m gonna get an ultrasound, but I’m really hoping they don’t need bloodwork because I am terrified of needles!  😰

Usually they will do an exam maybe Pap smear if you haven’t had one recently. You will pee in a cup and go for bloodwork. My doc doesn’t do ultrasound in office do we schedule that after the first appt. when I was pregnant back in May June she wouldn’t see me until 10 weeks! But I’ve had 2 Mc this year so she will see me at 6-7 weeks. I went last Monday for hcg and progesterone check. I go back this Monday to check hcg then we will schedule my appt I’m hoping to get in the 20-21 I will be just over 6 weeks then. Then us the week of Christmas
