I have a babysitting job 5 days a week. The dad is my cousin. They are both very well off and get paid good. I get paid $30 day to watch the baby from 5-5. Most of the time the forget to pay me on Fridays which is fine, I never ask I just wait until Monday which is when they Remember to pAy me most of the time. But this weekend we’re supposed to get a lot of snow so I don’t think I’ll be coming Monday and Tuesday because everyone will be snowed in. I need that money to buy a little groceries for the snow in case we can’t get out. I have an empty tank and $20 to my name. My question is should I call and ask for my money? My mom thinks I should but I think it looks like I’m begging for money or something. What should I do??

You should ask to be paid and then also ask for a raise. $30 for 12 hours of work is WELL below minimum wage. Sounds like they are taking advantage of you.

You’re not begging for money. Your asking your employer to pay you for the job you did. I’m sure they expect to be paid on their payday from their jobs and wouldn’t be ok with getting paid whenever. It’s not ok for them to pay you whenever they “remember.”

You're working for them 12 hours a day, 5 days a week. You should definitely be getting paid more than $150/week. If you had the time to go get another job, it might be a different story to be "helping out family" and for them to be barely paying you. Then on top of it all they don't even pay you when they're supposed to?? I'd definitely be asking for a raise or finding work elsewhere.
