Help missed period BFN

Ok ladies my hubby and I started trying this month. Longboard story short I am now a week and half late and no period and all bfns. I have been doing ovulation tests and my line is getting darker, not there yet but I think I’m the next week i should ovulate. Now should I go ahead and sceduale a doctors appointment because I missed my period all together or should I wait until next month to see if af comes if we don’t get pregnant. My cycles used to be normal but then stopped birth control back in May and they have been far from regular anywhere from 27 days to 42 days??? Advice
