Currently on hour 18 of my induction...
Came in at 5:30 this morning. I was barely 1cm and had absolutely no other signs of labor. They started me on meds to soften my cervix, which got me to a loose 1cm, 75% effaced by about 11am. Dr then started pitocin and I started having mild contractions. Spent the next few hours walking, sitting on the birthing ball. At 5:30pm she checked me again- 2cm, 75% effaced. At that point she decided to inflate a catheter in my cervix to encourage it to dilate. The pressure from that was CRAZY and kicked up my contractions immediately. Steady contractions at 2 min apart lasted for probably about 3hrs. They then checked the catheter and it was ready to come out. That got me dilated to a 4, but contractions tapered off after it was removed. Since the contractions started to get farther apart, they increased the pitocin. It’s now 11:45 and contractions are starting to get regular and stronger again. Feeling a little bummed everything is taking so long. Just walked the halls and now rolling around on the ball while my husband gets some sleep. Today was his birthday and I was SO hoping to make him a dad on his birthday. But it just wasn’t meant to happen I guess. Hopefully by tomorrow morning things will kick into high gear.
PS....I cannot fucking wait to EAT! 😩
