2nd baby shower??

I could be very wrong but I’ve thought people had one baby shower with there first baby and usually didn’t with a second or third pregnancy. I’m pregnant with number two, and had my first 5 years ago (at least it will be 5 years ago once #2 is born). Would it be appropriate to have a baby shower for this baby or is that not generally accepted?

If you want to have a baby shower, go for it. There is not rule against it. Personally I think every baby should get one whether it's your 1st or 5th. Every baby should be celebrated.

Every baby should be celebrated yes. Whether its the first or the 6th. For my third I threw my shower myself since no else wantes to.

Why only celebrate the birth of one child? That stupid outdated “rule”. After five whole years too? Please I doubt you kept anything from the last pregnancy hanging around that long let alone considering that the products they have now are so different from even five years ago. Have your baby shower, maybe just don’t expect for someone to throw it for you.

Have a party to celebrate the baby but find a way to have people go light on the gifts. Ask for diapers or something.

I had a shower with my first boy and then another for my boy girl twins born 5 years later. I thought I was done having kids but life happens and almost 8 years later and a new relationship, I’m expecting another boy. Apparently I’m having one this time too. Each one was thrown by someone else and none of them were huge. I didn’t even want the first one 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don’t like being the center of attention lol. I don’t see anything wrong with it, especially with years between or different genders.

I think it mostly depends on if youre having a different gender and how long since the last baby. But personally i feel like if you need stuff then it should be okay.
